Modernization of a Pickling Line and Tandem Mill

ArcelorMittal Vega has chosen Fagor Arrasate as a supplier for their expansion plans. The company has placed an order for the modernization of their existing pickling line + tandem mill (CPLTM), including the supply of a new pickling tank, which will mean an increase in the capacity of one of the key lines in their plant in São Francisco do Sul, Brazil.

The installation of a 4th tank and a pre cleaning section will allow an increase of the line working speed in the process section up to 200 mpm (the current process speed is 180 mpm), resulting an increase in the capacity of the line from 1.420.000 t/y to 1.620.000 t/y. The line will be able to process steel with a strip thickness range of 1,2 – 5,5 mm (current is 1,2 – 4,8 mm) and a width range of 750 – 1.875 mm.
